Charlie E
This is my first project since my neck surgery so I spread it out over a few days. Still need to add a backer and put some finish on it. Also my first effort at making a pattern and cutting intersecting word art. Thanks to Travis for the tutorial. My granddaughter turns 1 tomorrow. Her name is Josie Saige and her 4 year old brother nicknamed her GRAPICO before she was born and it stuck. She is having a Grapico theme birthday party. ***4/18/18Added one more Grapico pic since this is the bragging forum. meflick
Welcome glad to see you back and doing well Charlie from your neck surgery. This is an excellent looking piece. Congratulations on creating your own pattern. I am sure your granddaughter may not realize it tomorrow, but you have created her an heirloom for sure. Thanks for sharing it. wombatie
That is a great cutting and your lettering is excellent but I have to ask, who or what is a Grapico and what does a Grapico themed party look like? Marg ( A dumb Australian) Marg, I suspect many of us didn't know anything about Grapico - you were the only one willing to actually ask. So I think that means you are not dumb because you are willing to admit when you don't know about something. I admit it, I had no idea, but I turned to my good friend Google (or any of his close relatives as I often do to figure out what I don't know anymore ) to see what I could find. Best I could figure out, it is a Grape, sickly sweet (one site said almost tootsie pop sweet) soda type drink that originated in the the State of Alabama here in the USA well over 100 years ago. Not sure if it is sold anywhere outside of Alabama. I have never seen it here in TN and I am not that far away from Alabama. I would be interested in hearing why her brother nicknamed her that before she was even born (perhaps Mom was always craving a Grapico? So I assume the party will be serving the drink and have at least a purple theme. Perhaps Charlie will enlighten us some more. wombatie, Charlie E and GPscroller 2

Marg ( A dumb Australian) Ha ha. Must be a USA thing. Grapico is a brand of grape soda. Actually a really good brand! My 4 year old grandson loves it and when his mom, my daughter, was pregnant with my granddaughter he called her Grapico. She goes by Saige but Grapico has stuck as a nickname. As for the party hers will probably be the only Grapico party ever so we're having to be creative. wombatie and Joe C 1

Of course I put like 3 sugars and cream in my coffee so...You should definitely try some if you get to Bama. It also makes great homemade ice cream. One 2 liter Grapico and 2 cans sweetened condensed milk. Here's a pic of sickly sweet Saige! meflick
Hey Charlie - I just report what I read having never tasted one myself. Ms. Saige is cute as a button. Happy birthday to her. You need to scroll her a Grapico bottle. Charlie E
heppnerguy
What a cute little girl. You need to take a lot of photos and print them for her as she will never remember this day otherwise. Maybe a little home made scrap book with the photos of the party in it would do nicely and become a treasure for her for all time Dick heppnerguy Charlie E

Rob
Beautifully cut and well done on the design, you got it spot on. I particularly like the way you handled the dot of the "i" in Josie. I see it is done that way on the Grapico logo too so I guess that was your inspiration. Will be treasured I'm sure. Well done. Because I will probably never get back to America I guess I will never try any Grapico. Oh I have just remembered we have a USA Foods shop about a 45 minute drive from us maybe the next time we go there I will find some. We go there for the Taffy.
