That 's very cool - what is the backing?

Thanks for sharing your project

Both layers of the plaque are 1/4 inch BB Birch. The backer board is just stained Black. I take the picture plaque and lay it on what is going to be the backer board and using a pencil and a small washer, I put the pencil in the washer hole and trace around the original plaque. That gives me the spacing I am after over the complete piece. It works well on items that are odd shaped too

Really a very nice plaque.  I do not know how you cut things so fast, Dick.  I have been cutting on the "John 3:16" plaque for a couple weeks now and still have more to cut!  Then I have to put it all together.

Paul that is because these are really simple patterns and you only want to cut the intricate ones. I too prefer the ones with a lot of fret but these were requests. TTYS

OM! That is an incredible Idea! Thanks for sharing it!

I never would have though about that and I happen to have a project that is an odd shape sitting waiting for a frame or backing!

Nice work Dick.  I can see why your friends loved it and wanted another.  Glad you were able to meet up and spend some time with your buddies.

It is truly amazing to me that we have remained friends and still get together after almost 60 years together in peace time
