Popular Post heppnerguy
Last week we went to Texas for a wedding, and since we were in Austin and I have an old army buddy that lives there, I sent an email and asked if there was any chance that we might get together while we were there. He was more than happy to open up his house for my wife and I to spend the night with them, the day before the wedding. The next day I got an email from him, stating that he was going to go to their new beach house in Corpus Christi where we would be joined by a couple more of our Army buddies. Sounded great. While we were at the beach house, he asked me if I would make him another Airborne plaque like I had given all the guys when we had a reunion in Colorado, about four years ago. It was a pattern that I had made so I was able to duplicate it, easily and went to the shop yesterday and finished it last night and took it to the post office a little while ago. So he will have his new plaque in two days. Nice when someone likes something you make and asks for another one. Scrappile
Really a very nice plaque. I do not know how you cut things so fast, Dick. I have been cutting on the "John 3:16" plaque for a couple weeks now and still have more to cut! Then I have to put it all together. heppnerguy and GPscroller

Thanks for sharing your project Both layers of the plaque are 1/4 inch BB Birch. The backer board is just stained Black. I take the picture plaque and lay it on what is going to be the backer board and using a pencil and a small washer, I put the pencil in the washer hole and trace around the original plaque. That gives me the spacing I am after over the complete piece. It works well on items that are odd shaped too Dick heppnerguy new2woodwrk

Paul that is because these are really simple patterns and you only want to cut the intricate ones. I too prefer the ones with a lot of fret but these were requests. I never would have though about that and I happen to have a project that is an odd shape sitting waiting for a frame or backing! heppnerguy
