BadBob
The Klingspor Abrasives Gold Sand Mop 1"x 4" 220 with double the regular flutter sheets and no stiffeners. I use it for everything from wood toy parts to fretwork. I have had it for several years and have not worn it out. I also have Klingspor Abrasives Spindle Mounted Mac Mop, 180 Grit. I find it helpful in relieving sharp corners, but I don't use it for much else. It is more aggressive than the Gold Sand Mop. More than just the fact that it is a coarser grit. I looked at making a mop before I bought one an I would not make one. I have better things to do.

Thanks for your input on this but do you realize that this post was almost 6 years old? I've done the same thing before so don't feel bad. Denny Knappen
The one I use all the time is: Klingspor Abrasives Spindle Mounted Mac Mop, 240 Grit 7"x 1"x 1/4" Spindle (woodworkingshop.com) Under $50 is not expensive as it lasts along time.
