Rockytime
OK. Now that you have all settled down I'm going to show you my dust collection system. I need to go to Woodcraft and get another gate and rework some things. I visited the local ACE and picked up some odds and ends. The hose that terminates under the saw table comes from my CPAP machine. It couples perfectly to 1" PVC. The green hold down clamps are of my own invention. Real men use duct tape. I use painters tape. Not sure what it says about me. The 1" tubing is six feet long so only used a short piece. I did find out that reducing the suction intake does not increase suction but does the opposite. However, it has plenty suction to do the job. I plan to replace the green clamps with clamps made with rare earth magnets. Soooooooooooo here comes Dust Control. I've settled on the last photo that I'll go with. Rockytime
I went to Labcor today to have a blood draw. I was wearing a red shirt. When the little gal was about to wrap my arm I asked if she had wrap that would coordinate with my shirt. Sure enough she reached in a drawer and came up with a red wrap. I could perhaps, find red painters tape to match the saw. SCROLLSAW703, OCtoolguy and spotsdad 2

Chiloquinruss
You have a scrollsaw, so where's the ears, the tusks, the legs, the . . . . Love it. Very cool and imaginative. DC 's are boring and noisy, but very necessary. Well done! Russ OCtoolguy

OCtoolguy
But Les, isn't it going to become a hassle to keep switching your CPAP hose back and forth. And, the fine dust might clutter up your nose too. Just sayin........ Ray barb.j.enders
Jim McDonald
As an electronics buyer friend of mine once said when judging a small keyboard vacuum, "That sucks". Then, he turned around and bought several thousand for the company to sell You made a project work with what you had and it seems to be working. Rockytime
Well after using my DC it is not very effective. Reason: the small flex tube really reduces the vacuum. I'm replacing it with a larger diameter piece of PVC. Hopefully that should work. OCtoolguy
