bandaideman
Just wondered if anyone could identify this wood grain. Is it by chance like pine. Hope the attachment works. not good at this. I will be making something for a crib which is the same grain. they are asking to have done in pine. and they will paint themselves but I suspect it will be stained. SCROLLSAW703
I don't know about the poplar. Looks to dark for poplar. I'd have to say red elm, too.
Rockytime
Whatever it is that is a great looking crib. SCROLLSAW703 and WayneMahler
WayneMahler
If it's going to be painted don't matter as much as what the base wood is. What matters the most is wood movement with seasonal change. Just throwing out a thought.
lawson56
Poplar does turn dark over time.a blueish grey. I would have to go with the elm also.
DWSUDEKUM
I agree that that looks like poplar. DW
Roberta Moreton
Poplar can definitely have a greenish hue also. I vote poplar
Rolf
I am leaning towards poplar. I would prefer it over pine if it is being painted, I don't like it for stain.
