Painted Bowl

I decided to paint the second bowl to see how it would look. What do you think. Plain or painted.

Both look great Ralph.  I like the plain wood one better though.  Thanks for sharing them with us.

I'm going to point out the obvious, as you can clearly see, woodworkers (such as we have here) typically are going to prefer the "plain" show me the wood look  BUT if you are trying to figure out what a "customer" would like, you would get a lot more for the painted look probably.  So, you might have both available if you are looking to sell and see which ones work for selling.  You can always have a painted one to see and take orders for "painted" with color selections available and that saves from having to paint some until you "need" them.  Good job.

 I would have to vote for the plain one also. I like wood and most scrolling items when painted loose some of it's appeal to me, personally. I think it would be better to choose a different colored wood before I would paint one. That said, You did a really nice job painting your bowl, though
