Taking advantage of the economy, so...!

Recommended Posts

I'm taking advantage of the great economy and  started a "new" part time job this week,.

Going to save for my new planer ;)

I've not been in the shop much at all lately - between repairing/repainting our rentals (some tenants are just animals sheesh!) and this new job, I can barely get enough breathing time.

I've worked for 40 years avoiding manual labor, and now I'm a part time "gofer" for a bunch of millennial's  LOL - but they're a decent couple of kids and it's all good.

I'll check in when I can, and still read and comment on posts as I can.

Also, it's starting to get very hot and humid here so my shop time will be very limited anyway for most of the summer 😞

Thanks for reading and can't wait to see what you all create!

Best of luck to both of you. I recall having to find creative ways to generate extra income. Now, I'm retired and the only way is to do the handyman stuff around our park. That does keep me in spending money. Of course, I have to split it with my partner. She keeps a tidy house for me so I have to "pay" her something. Geesh!

I was wondering where your posts got to!!! Miss seeing your work!!  I might have to get a part time job also.....just to buy more toys!!

My shop is in the basement so it's real cool in the summer and warm in the winter....

Good luck in your new job!!

Thx Lew,

I'd give a finger or two to have a basement LOL

I haven't seen a basement in over 40 years (California has none, neither does Florida)!

Believe it or not Jes, my buddy had a home up in San Marino that had a basement. The house was built back in the early 20's. It was far enough above sea level that it was possible.

Nice thing about Colorado, nearly everyone has a basement. My clock shop and machine tools are in  the basement and my wood working tools are in my shop in the garage. Fortunately my garage shop has AC. The weather is such that I seldom need it. Comfortable winter and summer. I retired in 2001 and since then I have repaired clocks full time and still do although I have cut back considerably this year. I have repaired for over 40 years. Extra income is nice but I need more time for scrolling.

I too had been wondering what had happened to you.  Thought you were on vacation maybe. 😉  Here you go and say no, you've gone to work for some young kids.  Hope they pay well so you can get that planer and get back to work.  While you are at it, maybe save up for some A/C for your shop area then it won't matter that it is summer time in FL. ☀️⛱️
