Lastchance
Hi all, Been about 15 or so years since I scrolled out anything with my old 16 inch scroll saw and I figured it was about time I get back into the hobby late last year. Needless to say, my 20+ year old Craftsman had seen much better days. Even though I still owned the unit, it seemed some smaller hands had been at play and being bent, broken and somewhat unrecognizable would be an understatement. So, I have been saving all of my pennies since January 2009 and literally just took the plunge and purchased a DeWalt DW788PK 20-inch. I think (really hope) I found a pretty good deal considering it came with the 3 legged stand, work light, some blades and free shipping. Now all I can do is read scrolling forums, learn all I have missed out upon and wait for the postman to deliver my new pasttime machine. If anyone has any tips and tricks about the dewalt units, please let me know. I have never owned one before. I will say that since my departure from the hobby, the internet has exploded with information and training videos on U-tube and other sites. I have been shaking my head at how easy it seems to be to gather informatiuon and patterns now compaired to before. Back then if I couldn't figure it out, it either didn't get done or never got done the way I imagined it should. A forum of Scrollers..... who would have ever thunk it in the mid 80's. MBridges
HI Chance and welcome. I have the DW788 and love it. It's needing a tune up though after 12 years of scrolling on and off, but has been very reliable. You'll love your new purchase.
