55mm - inch's forstner bit?

I have a friend trying to figure out what size bit he needs to fit a clock insert.. The mounting diameter is 55mm but Im not sure what that = in inch or what size bit he needs..

Thanks for anyone that can help.. I only deal with the small 1-7/16 clocks for the most part..

Sorry, I hit the wrong key. It should have said 25.4 not 26.4.

 

1" = 25.4 mm.

55mm divided by 25.4 = 2.17. So, he will have to enlarge a 2" hole saw hole a wee bit.

Thanks guys, I don't know why he said he's having a hard time finding a bit.. I did a google after I asked here and found several sites selling 55mm bits.. including grizzly.. LOL

55 mm equals 2 11/64 inches .

25.4Mmm = 1"  do the math .

If it is a 60mm insert it fits in a 55mm hole or 2-1/8" If it is a 55mm insert then it fits in a 50mm hole or 2" hole
