Here is my first true finished project

Ok, for all those of you who had to put up with my endless questions regarding the constructing of this little basket, here is the finished product. I'll make the next one out of a better choice of wood but I wanted to practice on something cheap. So, poplar became that choice. I did use red oak as the plan called for though. I had a tough time figuring out what to use for a finish and took JT's advice to just use tung oil and shellac. I guess I'm happy with it. It was cut out totally using a Pegas #5 MGT.

My wife posted it on Facebook for all to see. Now, I'm getting orders for more. I'm not sure about making the same thing over and over. And figuring what to charge would be a problem.

That is a great looking project - I can understand why you are getting orders - and I really don't see anything wrong with your choice of woods - makes sense to mix them up a bit if you are going to do a bunch - but absolutely nothing wrong with what you've already done.
