dgman
This past Saturday, I scrolled all day working on various projects. I use a wooden bar stool. I’ve used it for years without any problem but this time, my back and shoulders were hurting. I decided I needed a more comfortable seat to scroll. So, I went on Amazon and found a nice drafting chair. I told my wife what I was doing and she said “ oh, let me get it for you for Fathers Day”. Well, it came today! It took about 15 minuets to put together, but man, is that chair comfortable! I ordered it without armrests as I figured since I was using it for scrolling, I wouldn’t use them anyways. I was worried the backrest would be useless, but it actually supports my back while I’m scrolling. Definitely a game changer! danny, Falcon, OCtoolguy and 4 others 6
WayneMahler
What a great find. I still use a "bar" type stool but that back rest sounds really interesting. Congrats on your gift OCtoolguy and dgman
ScollSaw Slasher
I've been thinking about a new chair as well and your set up looks close to mine. So I'll have to investigate further because these old bones need as much padding as possible. OCtoolguy and dgman 1

Scrappile
Nice one and a great Father Day present. I have a chair/stool similar to your new one. Nice to be able to adjust it's height, sometimes that will help with the back and shoulders. Just a slight change. dgman and OCtoolguy

Rockytime
I use a stool with a very thin padding. My butt hurts because all my padding is at the front and not on my butt. I keep threatening to buy another stool but so far I've just stopped scrolling for awhile until I quit hurting. Your stool looks great especially with wheels. bandaideman
Hey less you might look at a donut cushion. It is a padded circle with a hole in the middle. Used to be used cysts on the butt at the top for the crack but works pretty good in for general butt pain.
loftyhermes
My daughter bought me this chair many years ago, one of the best, if not the best thing ever for me when scrolling. OCtoolguy and danny
Rockytime
Your chair looks very comfortable. I have two chairs which are similar in my clock shop. However, they are too low. They are similar to those in a doctors office. They are adjustable and comfortable. I really need an adjustable drafting chair but am too cheap to buy one. wombatie
How's the chair going Dan? Is it helping with your back pain? Marg OCtoolguy
dgman
It’s great! I don’t have the back pain like I used too as I can adjust it for the height I need. When I’m working on my bench cutting and applying patterns or sanding I lower it to work comfortably. When I’m cutting on the saw, I raise it to a height so I’m not hunched over the saw table. The seat and back are still very comfortable after a years use. OCtoolguy and wombatie 1

teachnlearn
Use a bar stool at the kitchen counter, can't stand. Will keep this model in mind. If you need padding go to a medical supply store or amazon and check gel pads for wheel chairs. Designed for folks like me to keep the pressure off the backside. Had mine for many years, don't know if I would buy any under a 100, Though the technology could have changed.
