It was made my uncle Charlie Knight Edmondson. I believe it is a Boy Scout. He was a paratrooper and was captured in France on June 6, 1944. He was executed the next day. I would write down as many details as you know about and maybe even get some family members to back up the story and place it with the piece so future generations will understand the sacrifice your uncle made.
