I think this will get you there, if not go to  www.scrollrscafe.com go to pattern archives then search Black Lab it comes up first one on the page for me.  Not sure you may need to be a member to get the pattern I can't remember.

Did you start with the eyes or the mouth? 

Both look a bit delicate.
