Snowwolfe Posted September 7, 2018 Report Posted September 7, 2018 Just another old retired fart who now has the space and time to get back into wood working. Always liked doing scroll work but have not done any since high school. Thought I would go big or go home so just ordered a Excalibur EX-21 scroll saw with foot switch. Am sure this saw will meet my needs for a long time. Jronn65, lawson56, Phantom Scroller and 1 other 4 Quote

meflick Posted September 7, 2018 Report Posted September 7, 2018 Welcome to the Village Randy from another Tennessean. Glad to have you join in. Enjoy your new saw. Since Tennessee is such a long, wide state, what part of the State are you from? We have several members here from different parts of the State which is why I ask. We have several in the Middle Tennessee area and a few of us in the East TN area. I am in East TN around the Knoxville area. Quote
Scrappile Posted September 7, 2018 Report Posted September 7, 2018 Welcome, and congrats on the new saw. I think you will love it. I would also not be surprised it TN is not one of the most represented states on this forum. Seems like there are quite a few members from there. Quote

heppnerguy Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 Welcome from Southern Arizona where the winters are even pleasantly warm. Glad you got yourself into scrolling. I did the same when I retired and I have always enjoyed my doing so. Hope to see you here often. If you do log on often, you will quickly discover you now have a lot more friends then you ever thought you would Dick heppnerguy Quote
spirithorse Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Welcome to the forum! I am already a bit envious because I can't afford an Ex and I don't have all the cheap wood y'all seem to have available in Tennessee. Hope to see some projects soon. God Bless! Spirithorse Quote
Snowwolfe Posted November 5, 2018 Author Report Posted November 5, 2018 Still alive and kicking but life has kept me busy from playing with the saw. Decided to purchase the stand instead of making one. Everything went well until the box arrived. And I mean that literally, I received a box with open ends and nothing inside of it. Had to file a dispute with Paypal to receive a refund and was just informed they sided with me and gave me a refund. So will order another stand. Now deer season is here and been busy cutting wood as well. And people keep on telling me it must be nice to be retired! Quote
Tomanydogs Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 It is nice to be retired. But somehow life gets a lot busier after retirement. Glad you didn’t have to pay for an empty box. Quote

Don't get so busy that you can't play with that new Saw. Give Paypal hell, and get that stand and start enjoying this great hobby. If you are like most of us there isn't enough time in the day to do what we want. Being retired is great. Enjoy each and every day, and start scrolling. Glad to have you part of this amazing group.
