Popular Post Foxfold
Have been trying my new saw out. Only having a PinEnd saw was brilliant to me at least. I was quite happy with it until I joined this forum. Then seeing the kind of beautiful work that you people make, I went and bought myself a 'new to me' saw. Well, never having used one before I jumped in with both feet and did this piece. To give an idea of size I've put my front door key along side it. Now it may not technically be the best piece you've ever seen, but I'm chuffed as mintballs as I've never done anything so tiny in my life. It's a Japanese symbol for Love and I've yet to be brave enough to cut it out from the big piece of wood. It's a piece of oak so hopefully it will last a good while. Tried 'bigger' today and heavens above, it's not easy with those tiny blades, they show every wibble and wobble, and I seem to wibble and wobble more than most bobscroll
DWSUDEKUM
Well done. Actually smaller is often quite a bit harder than making it larger. Looking forward to seeing your work as you learn more and more. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW RabidAlien

Generally a comfortable arms length ( arms not locked at the elbows hehe ) the better you can control the cuts. This does take practice but it will come with time. The more comfortable you are when you cut the smoother generally it will be. DW Foxfold
spirithorse
Beautiful work, Brenda, That would be a lovely necklace if you cut a circle around it but, I would have to think long and hard about whether to take a chance on ruining a beautiful piece of work like that. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse GPscroller

heppnerguy
you sure have accomplished a lot in a short time. Keep pushing your envelop. John B
Super work Brenda, Large format photographs are "the devil in disguise". They show you unreasonable detail which would never be visible to the naked eye. On the other hand I like my Magnifying lamp because it makes me extra careful and critical and when the glass is removed the cutting looks pretty good, until I take a large photo Foxfold
