Not to say I'll never carve again but I love scrolling so... Don't get me wrong, I love scrolling and I think I am pretty good at the fret work stuff, but the painters and carvers, in my opinion have more talent in their little fingers than I have in my whole body. I can maneuver a piece of wood to cut out the black, but that is mechanical compared to carving a piece of wood into a neat form or painting a picture,,,,, well I use to do paint by numbers pretty well... But you know, I am old enough now that I don't need approval, so I am going to try carving and only I need to approve of what I produce... No one else has to even see it. By the way, I recently purchased a couple detail knife blades and made handles for them. I already cut myself just wrapping them up to put them away.
