invasion
I would like to do a portrait and when done if successful I want to mount in in a frame. the frame would be one of the ones you can buy in any store, with those metal tabs that you bend over to hold the picture in. So how hick should my ply be for this?? Thanks
Oges
I use 3-4mm ply in those frames, thats 1/8" in your measurements I think. Best to stack cut with another nice piece of ply or waste piece for that thickness.
invasion
Thanks oges, I will go out today and see if I can get some 3-4mm ply, may as well get an 8ft 4ft sheet I think they are around £15 Now all I need is a good Rabbit pattern that I can use..one of my friends keeps rabbits and thought it would be a nice gift
Vector01
I get the document frames from WalMart. Most of my portrait cuts are 8.5 X 11" so they fit perfectly. I use 1/4" baltic birch plywood. Drop the cut in the frame with backing and secure with the tabs.

I am avoiding the likes of Homebase as prices will be much more. Adam
grampa
Hi, I have started getting my 4mm birch ply from Page and Taylor £23 for a 8x4 sheet great quality and no voids, I used to use the cheeper stuff but kept getting tear out when cutting fine bridges but with this stuff its a joy to use, I cut 10x8 portraits so get 32 from one sheet ......Paul
