He always wanted to see the wood prior to cutting my 3D bird houses, well here it is.  I used pieces of scrap and glue them together to get the proper dimensions either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" square, next glue the pattern to the wood, drill 1/8" hole for the perch, 1/2" Forster bit for the entry to the house. Now we move to cutting I start with the face of the bird house and then re tape it together and cut the other side of the pattern. Take it apart and you have the end products.

No just my hands, never had any problems and using either FDUR5 or Pegas GT5

Are the shapes your own design or from a published plan and if the

latter where can I get he plan ?

I have done about 20 birdhouses and don't use a clamp. Like you, I tape the first cut back in place. 

If I ever did a larger piece, I might consider a clamp.

Pete, ,you gave me a great idea. I never thought of gluing different pieces together to get the size you need. I have a pattern that's pretty wide but I didn't have any wood that size. Now I do I guess. Thanks.
