kmmcrafts
The one Hawk saw that I don't know much about other than reading about it being the top of the line Hawk saw... Does anyone know if they are only made in the 26" throat or did the make a 20" version? I found one not too far from me for $400... I sent the seller a couple of questions but I honestly am not all that interested.. unless they are selling it at a few hundred less.. I don't need another old worn out Hawk to rebuild.. If I'm buying another it'll be new condition if not new.. Really like to get the new BM series if I'm buying one, LOL https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/for/d/scroll-saw/6717264257.html It's been on there for several days now.. maybe they sold it already.. or maybe not and now they'll bargain.. Rockytime
The variable speed foot control would be my first turn off. OCtoolguy and SCROLLSAW703
Scrappile
You know how I feel, if the seller won't even dust it off to try to sell it, I lose interest. I see it often, covered with dust, no attempt to clean it up a bit...I know, picky, picky..... The variable speed foot control.... I don't know about that. I guess if it had cruise control to go with it...... OCtoolguy and SCROLLSAW703 1
kmmcrafts
I really kind of question if the seller really even knows anything about it.. My experience with these higher end saws that have very little information about the saw has been that the actual owner had past away and the seller has no idea what they are trying to sell.. I question the Variable foot switch. why have that? the saw has variable speed.. so does the person really know what it is? I don' t know.. Same for the saw... I may be wrong but I sort of feel like if this person selling the saw knew what a G4 is they'd have stated that the saw is a G4 and a 26" saw etc.. I only knew it was a G4 by looking at the emblem at the back of the saw... No where in the ad do they give any kind of details.. By the looks of all the blades, blade holder tubes. etc. I'm kind of assuming the owner used it a fair amount.. OCtoolguy
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Will tell you this that VS foot control will burn that motor up so I would run far away from that one. That is why you never use a sewing machine foot control on a VS saw of any kind. This goes for routers and all. If he used in conjunction with the saw he better had the saw full open. No I would not touch that one. Just my opinion. SCROLLSAW703 and OCtoolguy 1

No I would not touch that one. Just my opinion. That was exactly my thinking. That and the fact it looks like it’s probably had a fair amount of use. Just doesn’t look like a “great “ deal to me. Especially since I’m not desperate for a saw. Lol OCtoolguy and SCROLLSAW703
stoney
Maybe they intended to state variable speed control, and a foot pedal. I agree with Paul on the appearance of the saw. A few minutes spent vacuuming the saw would make it much more presentable. OCtoolguy and SCROLLSAW703
Roberta Moreton
I have found that a lot of people that have no knowledge of the foot control assume that it is like a sewing machine control. Variable speed. SCROLLSAW703, OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts
Rockytime
I just took another look at the saw. I noticed this guy is serious about his scroll saw. He built the pedestals for his feet and used c-clamps to attach it to the saw legs. Interesting. SCROLLSAW703 and OCtoolguy 1

This and the fact that there is a wide variety of blade holders in his homemade blade holder rack with several tubes.. He certainly wasn't new to scroll saws... kind of makes me think that the saw was possibly put to a lot of use... Not certain of that.. but... Also why I feel whoever listed this.. doesn't know much about the saw.. since they gave no details about the saw nor the blades etc etc... I could be wrong in assuming that though.. I emailed them yesterday afternoon.. still no reply back.. saw has been listed for 15 ish days.. so maybe it's gone... which is something that really annoys me.. if it sold take the ad down.. but since they took so much effort to clean the saw I sort of think they'll take about the same effort to remove the ad, LOL OCtoolguy, JTTHECLOCKMAN and SCROLLSAW703 2
kmmcrafts
Well I was browsing the FB marketplace ads last night and ran across this same saw.. I messaged the seller through there ad.. and they messaged back this morning and said it had sold... Grrr hate when people don't remove ads or at least mark them sold... I really wasn't planning to buy anyway unless they was going to offer a great deal.. kind of wanted to look it over.. but no need to know anyway.. LOL Really just wanting a newer BM series I think.. and have spotted a couple but distance is a bit far.. might have to think it over a bit..
