Popular Post Old Joe
I just finished this Alex Fox pattern. 330 cuts, Baltic Birch Natural Danish oil, mounted on 3/4” Poplar board stained about as dark as I could get it. I may move on to ornaments, or baskets, or maybe boxes for awhile. frankorona, Scrappile, jbrowning and 13 others 13

heppnerguy
extremely nice piece. I love the detail in it. Alex Fox makes patterns that are definitely challenging and you stepped up to the saw and cut it like it was alive. My hat is off to both you and Alex for all the effort both of you put into this pattern. It is truly a work of art Dick heppnerguy Old Joe
rdatelle
What an awesome job you did on that. My Granddaughter loves cats and I would to do something like that but I don't think I have the patience or ability to it. Old Joe

John B
You did a great job on that piece Joe. It is one pattern I thought seriously about buying. But after a lot of thought I doubt if anybody would pay me what it would be worth with all those cuts and although we have a cat, the missus is not that enamoured with them to have cat pictures on the wall. amazingkevin
It has your signature all over it. Water over the dam now, on to more challenging projects if you like! That's one remarkable job you did here, Thanks for showing!!! Old Joe

John, it’s a funny thing. I put this up on Lumberjocks the other day and I got a letter from a well known member on there yesterday that really liked this piece. He makes really nice bowls and asked if I would be interested in swapping the cat for a couple of his bowls. I told him that I might be later, but that I had just finished this and my wife wanted to keep this one around for a while. We agreed to do a rain check.I did put a fair amount of time into this one and if I sold it for cash I would want a fair price, otherwise I’d keep it, barter it, or gift it. Thank all of you for your kind compliments. It’s always nice when other terrific artists/craftspeople like you folks appreciate one’s efforts. Old Joe
I have done several of Alex Fox fretwork patterns and several of his baskets. Between the many zigs and zags, and the often close bridges, I think he is a very mean man! (Just joking, but many of his patterns are challenging !). amazingkevin

Yes, I like to make advanced and detailed patterns, and for someone it could be difficult but the final result is worth of it. PS I also have some patterns for beginners Edited November 8, 2018 by alexfox Old Joe

I am just a lowly craftsman who gets along with his tools.
