wynnepam
First of all, I have never cut anything with a scroll saw. I am in search of my first scroll saw. With the holidays coming soon, I want to cut out some deer and a manger scene for my yard. What would be the best saw for me to start with to accomplish these tasks. I love doing all kinds of crafts and I am pretty handy with power tools. Any help would be a appreciated. Thanks.
amazingkevin
hello, If it's going to be be stand up big i would use a jig saw.what size are in your plans .As for a scroll saw ,the big box stores have them for a hundred bucks .or you could find a used one on craigs list for 50. get the saw blades with reverse tooth if you want clean sanding free edges both sides.hope this helps.Big projects are tough to do as the throat of the scroll saws are 16 to 20". wynnepam
Thank you Kevin. It is going to be stand up size so I would probably be better off with the jigsaw since I will probalby be putting the design on a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. Lastchance
"If it's going to be be stand up big i would use a jig saw.what size are in your plans" Totally agee with a good Jig saw and sharp blades for most yard art. A nice circle saw helps too! Chance
