A Question for Administration

Sorry to bother you but....there is a thread under General Scroll Sawing about wooden gear clocks and other gadgets with gears. I posted a reply with a link to the clock I built. When I click on the link and go there, in several locations, it appears that my word processing software (MS Word) doesn't fully work with the server. It seems like it's when I use apostrophes things get all jazzed up. When I went to read it again, it was difficult and I wrote it. So I'm sure anyone else will be confused.

Should I be doing something different????

Thanks.    Berry aka oldhudson

the issue is with word, when you copy and paste from word, formatting commands are included.  web site code does not know how to parse some of those formatting commands.  As you can see it is only some specific ones that cause issues

copy paste to word/note pad, then copy paste to the net removes formatting

When you paste something into a post, there will be a message in black in the bottom of the post that asks if you want to paste it as plain text.  Click yes.  That should strip away any MS Word formatting.  I don't compose in MS Word, so I wouldn’t know if this works or not, but it should.

You can also do as Jim suggested and either copy/paste into Notepad, or compose in Notepad.  I use Notepad all of the time when I want to strip away formatting.

This old man will give that a try. Thanks.
