loftyhermes
No, I'm not getting treatment, I'm always looking for more saws. Oh and that reminds me I've also got two of those little Spiralux electro magnetic type saws as well, now I'm up to 14. RabidAlien
I have one working scroll saw, band saw, table saw, skill saw, reciprocating saw, drill press, two cordless drills. I have a vintage router that may or may not work, the power cord is so cracked I'm afraid to turn it on without serious rubber matting between myself and the ground. I also have five old planes, anywhere from 1960's Sears to something that was probably handed down from my wife's grandfather's grandfather, all of which are in dire need of cleaning/restoration and sharpening. My wife asks why I have them if I don't use them.....then gets mad when I ask her why she has shoes she hasn't worn in a year or more. THEY'RE VINTAGE, AND EFFIN' COOL!!! RabidAlien
Also had two hand-held sanders, one Black & Decker "Mouse" sanders that was probably 15 years old, and a new DeWalt sander. Good thing I got the DeWalt...the B&D started throwing plastic pieces from inside, and then the motor seized up. 15 years, though, that's a pretty good lifespan for a palm sander. amazingkevin and OCtoolguy

BadBob
I have two scroll saws. Primary and a backup. I I don't know how many clamps I have. I still run out some times. amazingkevin and OCtoolguy
Rolf
I seem to be in the minority here I ONLY have two scroll saws. My Hawk G4-26 with the Delta speed clamp modification. That saw has, for the most part, paid for the rest of my tool acquisitions since 2005. My shop is in the basement and getting that Hawk beast out for our annual woodworking show was killing me. So I now have a much more portable EX 16 with Pegas clamps. (bought used) The hawk is more powerful and has a huge throat, and very fast blade changes for fretwork. The EX has the tilting blade so I now have the best of both worlds. Regarding clamps I don't have enough. I have 5 or maybe more. But I have a new router table that came with a router that takes 1/2 and 1/4 shank bits. and for portable I use the Colt trim router. I will probably sell or give away the rest. OzarkSawdust
Only 1 scroll saw...at a time. Started with a WEN, cheep to try the obsession...I mean hobby. I liked it a lot so I got a good saw, a King 16" and sold the WEN. If I ever get another scroll saw I'll probably get the same style, Pegas, Seyco, EX, in a 21" but I'll keep the 16" for a travel saw. It doesn't take up much room in the 5th wheel! My husband probably wonders thst too. especially since they are in “his” shop. Technically, we have 3 “ in the house.,” but only two are setup. Actually, it’s his fault. We had the big yellow “Type 1” Dewalt. We had had it for many, many years but was little used. Then, when I got interested again and took some Intarsia classes, I purchased a used purple Excalibur from Seyco after using one at my classes. I was happy with that saw. I liked that saw. It’s a good Saw. But, hubby struggles with what to buy me for gifts. I am not a jewelry kinda girl. My birthday is the week after Mother’s Day. The new Seyco Saw came out and was reviewed in the Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts magazine shortly before that month one year. So hubby being a good hubby, ordered me the new Seyco Saw. That moved the Dewalt out of the workshop. One reason i keep the Excalibur setup is because you can tilt it more then the Seyco. I also like having both if something happened to one even though I do not sell. The big question is what we are doing with the Type 1 Dewalt. Since it’s a “Type 1,” I hate to just get rid of it. So it is sitting in the garage while I decide what to do with it. I keep hoping somebody in the family wants to learn. @meflick, I can understand your predicament with that type 1 Dewalt. I wanted a type one and had to search high and low for one. I like them because the motor is made in Canada and trust that more. If you ever decide on getting rid of your Type 1 Dewalt, let me know please. I only have two saws, the dewalt and a 1990 Craftsman 13 in that was given to me. that is what started my scrolling hobby. meflick and OCtoolguy

ben2008
I have a 28 year old RBI and a 8 year old Excalibur. I keep the RBI set up and tuned with a #5 Olson PGT blade that I use mostly for Intarsia. I use the Excalibur for most everythinh else. If I wasn't in my 80s I would probably buy a new Pegas saw and sell the Excalibur. I would never sell my RBI. I get bored easily and switch between saws and types of scrollsawing I happen to be working on.. I sometimes switch off and on 3 or 4 different projects at a time. For instance i just finished 3 different projects for Christmas presents and switched between saws frequently. Took one off, put another one on etc. Am I weird? You will wonder how you ever got along without a band-saw. I use mine all the time. I don't have a dedicated table saw. I have to wheel it outdoors and set it up so I make lots of quick cuts on my band-saw. Very handy. amazingkevin
Rockytime
I've had three RBI's. Only one at a time, a 14" belt driven ten a 16" vs and finally a 220 vs Ultra. I loved the 220 but give it up for two Hegners. I did that because the Hegners have the three legged stand which has a much smaller footprint. I rate the RBI's and Hegners pretty much equal. Loved both of them. The Hegners allow me to have two saws instead of one. That's very handy. amazingkevin and OCtoolguy
nrscroller
hi all I have 2 saws, a Dewalt first generation like new that sits and my Hegner 18vs that I have had for many years that I bought used, but it had no use on it. Ken Lotts
I started out on Dewalt in 2010 and then bought a Seyco when they first came out then this year I pulled out the stops and got a Hegner Multimax 22V. I gave the Dewalt to mt grandson so now my shop has the Seyco and the Hegner. I like having two saws. I don't imagine I will get a third though. amazingkevin, Scrappile and OCtoolguy

May I ask the reason for this ? Do different saws do different things? I have two saws one is a little Pin End saw that I still use, but then, when I came on here I found out about Pinless saws and the world that they could open up for me. I have an Axminster that I love but is it 'all' I need or do I need to prise open husbands wallet again ?? However, reading some posts and seeing photo's of peoples workshops, it seems that owning 2/3/4 saws is not uncommon and I just wondered why? Just being nosy really xxx Brenda LOL. i've had over a dozen dewalt dw788's type 1&2 at one time. Got them one at a time at a good price. Just wait till your saw is down and can't scroll. You will drive tony up and over a wall!!! I don't like down time. This is my reason to have more than one!!! Plus extra working parts are a plus when needed. Wish i could set them all up and have classes. OCtoolguy
Scrappile
I have two,,, no reason that really is important,,,, I just do and I use both... If I found a can't resist on a Hawk... G-4 or better I would have three.. no reason that really is important.... But think about,,, people use to get by with one car,,,, but, really who does anymore.... Edited December 29, 2020 by Scrappile
