Been using reading glasses for about 2 years now, only at a 1.25 power, but you all know when scroll sawing you need a little more power...and light!  What is a good clamp on or floor standing mag/light combo unit?  I saw this one on Amazon,, anyone using this one?  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G4TH1R6/?coliid=I3520MOFYVJMN2&colid=303SJ2KD79MP1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

Thanks for any and all help,

Barry

I have a lamp very similar to Ray's lamp. Mine is LED with a 5X magnifier. I cannot use the magnifier as it is too strong. Trying to focus with that strong a diopter bothers my eyes. I use magnifiers with about 1.5X strength. Others here may like the 5X. I also use reading glasses with 1.75X magnification. I don't like my nose too close to the saw. I do love the LED lighting. Also I do not attach the lamp to the saw as I do not enjoy the light vibrating. My saw is very smooth but there are harmonics that cause the lamp to vibrate slightly. Other opinions may vary.

Here is a topic about it with quite a lot of good info on these lights.. I switched my cheaper florescent light bulbs out for some nice bright LED's ... There is some info on that with links to where to get the LED's etc in this topic..

Should have more answers than you wanted here.. LOL

I was thinking the same,, 5X is too much.  I, like you,, will also mount mine on something other than what the saw is setting on, which is why the one in my link caught my eye, it sits on the floor.
