Blade Sales

I need to order blades. I need to order Pegas, Olson and FD blades. In my search none of the vendors sell all three brands, only one or two brands. I don't want to pay two shipping charges and also I would like to get gross pricing. If anyone knows of a vendor that sells all three I would appreciate knowing who it is.

Here is where I get my Pegas blades -- http://www.scrollsawbladespatterns.com/

They have Olsen and Flying Dutchman, also.

Wow I just checked some of the patterns they offer and alot of them are from The Berry Basket and do they bring back memories. I made so many of those over the years. Shelfs ,clocks, military which I made into clocks and still make them, kids furniture. Oh the good old days. They are part of the reason I got into this.

Be careful buying from that place. I used to always get my blades from them. But the Pegas brand was always out of stock and back ordered. One time it took 8 weeks to get my blades and they are only the next state over from me. They are a small business that both the husband and wife work full time jobs. I like them nice people and like to support the small business. But I just had 1-2 too many late shipping items that it turned me off. This has been done to other scroll sawer as well because I’ve seen post on here and other sites about them. You’ll get the blades just might be a while. One order they totally forgot my back ordered blades that they said they’d ship once they came in a week later. Three weeks went by and I send them a message. So keep a receipt and keep track of your order and what you order.

Also, you never get any kind of shipping/ tracking notifications so you’re left in the wind if they ever sent them.

Not trying to badmouth them. They are just busy people trying to make a living.  Just trying to warn you to keep and eye on what you order and that it might take some time to get it. Most times it was quick but if there was a back order, then they forget you had a order. Think because they ship the things you order that they have. Then they forget that you have more to the order.

I have seen several sites that sell two of the brand's you mentioned.  I might have missed it But I have never seen where they allowed you to mix brands for gross pricing.  I use D and D for my Pegas and Mike's for my Flying Dutchman.  Even with shipping they are way cheaper then getting them through a brick and mortar store like Woodcraft.

I now recall sending them my very first order of blades when starting out. I recognize the name Leslie. My order did not arrive so I called them. The phone would ring and the answer said, "If you know your party's extension enter it now." I knew of no extension. I called again two or three times over the next couple of days with the same results. I finally emailed them and got an answer. They said their phone system was down. I finally got my order but was shy a couple of things. Yes, I had forgotten about them. I understand about mom and pop businesses. The pen making supply business is full of them. I think, just to give them another chance I will bite the bullet from them. Wish me luck.

I bought some from them awhile back because their shipping cost was a lot cheaper. It did take a couple of weeks but I live in Canada. I would order from them again.

Well, I changed my mind. I ordered Olson and FD from The Wooden Teddy Bear. I mixed and matched and got gross pricing. I ordered the Pegas from Bear Woods. I looked at D&D but from what I could determine they only sell by the gross and not dozen. But then I perhaps do not know how to read their web page. Leslie's appeared to be the same. So I just ordered from my regular vendors. A little extra shipping but that is OK>

Howdy,

It's been a few years since I ordered anything from Mike's, but if I remember right, the service was top notch!

I found a few patterns in wooden teddy bear shortly thereafter, and have been ordering Olson and FD blades, along with most all my patterns from them. I get excellent service, and have always received my order in a short amount of time, and complete.

I did find a couple patterns at Artworks last fall, but their shipping is more than the price of their patterns, and it takes an act of congress to get your order.

D&D has the worst web page in the world.

the listing in the center of the page is by the gross, off to the side is by the dozen, but be careful!  they do not line up the size blades.

the center might show a #5 gross, and the listing off to the right might be #3 by the dozen

I mentioned the problem to them when I ordered the wrong number blade, my fault I did not read it well enough I guess, they do not seem concerned at all.  Shame such a simple fix, but ... I was not asking for a refund or reshipping, it was my fault, but even though I offered to help with the site I heard nothing back.

D&D sell them by the dozen also, if you look on their website on the right end side of the page you will see the price per dozen. Will try to post a picture. The shipping charges from these companies are real high but maybe not in the US. Bear woods delivery and shipping charges are real bad here in Canada.

The Bear Wood is very reasonable with their shipping. A little over $4.

My first order of Pegas was from Bear Woods. I didn't realize at the time that they are in Canada. It took 2 weeks to get my order. The last time I ordered Pegas blades was from DnD and I got them clear across the U.S. in about 3 days. Fantastic service. I do agree that their website sure does need some help though.

I agree with Jim D&D has the worst webpage. Just got my order and instead of #3 and # 5 I got #1 and #3 guess its my fault for not double checking my order. It is confusing though. Get all my FD from The Wooden Teddy Bear. Extremely fast shipping but they do charge shipping. Don't use Olsen any more.
