Holiday Project - Scroll Saw Challenge

This scroll saw challenge is an easy one!  Post a Holiday project!  Ornaments for your tree, gift for a loved one, or decorations for your house.  Whatever!  While we love to see your projects, it's the stories behind the project that makes it special.  So tell us a little bit about it.

Made this herd of reindeer to take to the market show and sold them all before I left the house to a neighbour.

I know what to make next year everyone keep asking for them as I put them on my facebook page.

My contribution for this year.  All given to friends and family.  From upper left, clockwise... poplar, mahogany, soft maple, cherry.

I made this for my daughter for Christmas.  Her cat died earlier this year so I made this for her and named it the Lillie Tree.

I made “Tree Scenery” designed by @worbler I switched it up a little. I wanted it to stand on its own without the cutout pieces, but that wasn’t working so I put the cutout pieces back in.

A present for my Mom, who did American Sign Language interpretation for the deaf for MANY years.  I never inherited her knack for languages, so I'm pretty much stuck with the alphabet and a few choice signs usually reserved for driving.

 

 

A couple of ornaments, the snowman was for my wife, and the Christmas tree went to a friend.

 

 

Some more ornaments, Steve Good 3D patterns I thought would be a fun and easy cut.  They were.

 

 

Alex Fox pattern, a gift for my sister to go on her Wall O' Crosses.

 

 

A gift for a friend of my wife's, sorta a memorial for her friend's Mom.

The tray and the dragon are separate designs from Steve Good I combined.  I made three of the cherry and six of the walnut.  They go to various family members.

This little lantern I made as a gift for my wife. I am a completely new scroller. So i was very proud of me for being able to complete this.

Well earned, my friend.  Michaelangelo didn't start out painting chapel ceilings in Cistine, he started out with drawings his mother had to force a smile while putting up on whatever their equivalent of the fridge was back then.    Yours....is excellent!  Keep practicing, you can only get better!

Made a great deal of gifts for a bunch of my friends and family.  This year has been the busiest year ever and best year ever.

Just finshed mine today.  I actually had this one set up and ready to cut last year,,, never got to it.  This is a pattern that was in the Winter 2017 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts magazine #69.  designer Bruce Shea

Cut in Cherry and star white rose wood.

Been wanting to cut a Nativity for quite some time.  Finally got some time in my shop to get it done.  This is Steve Good's pattern and made from some alder that @heppnerguy gave me.

 

My wife and her friends really like a video game called Midnight Cinderella.  I made some custom ornaments with some of the characters.  The are thrilled with them. 

Here's a detail shot. Cut from 1/4" BB ply. The image is just printed onto copy paper. I also put some Christmas scrapbook paper on the reverse before cutting them out.

First of all, I have continued my recent "tradition" of mailing home-made wooden cards.  Here are photos of the cards for the last three years:

Then, last week, I discovered a pattern for a great freestanding tree ornament by Sue Mey.  So far,  have made one of these:

                

I will definitely make more of these.  Right now, I am experimenting with combining this along with some coloured glass as a background (stained-glass is another one of my many hobbies).
