New Year! Refreshed Saw

It's amazing how much smoother my saw ran when doing this... and I thought it was pretty smooth before doing it.. When I first did mine it was more of a pre-maintenance.. but I did find some bearings / bushings starting to get some wear that I replaced.. Good high quality synthetic grease has kept it running smooth for several years of production cutting.. but it's got some wear issues going on again as it's getting some slight noise.. I bought all the stuff to rebuild the complete saw with new bearings and sleeves a year ago.. still haven't done it.. but I no longer use the saw much now either, LOL

There are so many of these saws out there and it was a good thing someone took the time to make a video to show the workings and the procedure to take apart to do a maintenance thing on those saws. You do not see this for other saws. Or at least I have not. Glad you got things working in top form again and you did not have any extra parts laying around. Hate when that happens.😀

Starting the new year with a refreshed saw.  After watching the videos on how to grease the bearings, I finally got around to doing it!  I also waxed the table.  Did a test cut and it didn't blow up!!! lol

It is so nice to see a member of the female gender who is not afraid to get her hands dirty and to dive into fixing mechanical things. Congrats on your excellent project.

You're so right JT. I'd like to see a similar video on the EX saws. I'm going to jump into mine one of these days just to do the same type of maintenance. They are constructed just enough different that it might be nice to watch a video on disassembly and re-assembly.

Maybe a good time to make a video Ray :)  LOL

I have never expected my hubby to work on items that are mine!  Even down to the car.  Years ago, when you could actually work on cars, I did the oil changes, filter changes and even the spark plugs!!!

The absolute best use of a smartphone that I've found!

My buddy used to restore slot machines back before digital photography. He used to take 35mm pics and pay for the developing just so he would have a pictorial record of how everything went back together. That philosophy has never failed him and now he is a multi-millionaire.

Well,  now for an update!!!  Was cutting today and it didn't blow up - but it did just stop.  Guess I am watching more videos and taking it apart again🤔😢

Check the fuse first. Make sure you have power to the saw and getting past the fuse. Try turning the motor by inserting a screwdriver into the end of the motor and turning it. With the power off of course.

I agree with Neal. I realize that you have put a screw/spacer through to hold it in place but I think something is wrong with that joint. Check it out and take another video.

The pivot bolt on the vertical arm looks to be either loose or broken.

Thanks for the suggestions and help.  Here is another video.  I have tightened the bolts, as you can see.  When I originally greased it, I only removed the sleeve on the pivot point.  I did try to put some in the points behind with an old blade.  The only bolt removed was that main pivot one.
