I just added a small magnet to the bottom of the hole for the pin, then drilled 1/16 holes in the end of the pin and pressed in a short length of steel rod. The pin is now held in place by the magnet. The goal is to have a rod with a magnet in the end (a magic wands) required to be able to remove the pin.

Is this a serious question? It's not that hard (well the 1 1/2 deep cuts) but the parts HAVE to be cut in a specific order.
