Popular Post Foxfold Posted January 4, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) This is the biggest thing I've ever done in my short life of scrollsaw learning. I did it twice as I wasn't happy with the first one. It's 22" x 9" and was done for a friend for his sisters birthday. I really struggled with it, especially as it wouldn't fit sometimes on my 18" saw. I found trying to cut some of it, when I felt like I was stood 2ft away from my blade, incredibly challenging. I have one more this size to do for him and then I don't think I'll ever do anything this big again, I don't think I could take the stress. Scrappile Posted January 4, 2019 Report Posted January 4, 2019 Well it looks like you won the battle. Very nicely cut. When things get too big for my saw I move to spiral blades. Some find them difficult to use, but with some practice they can be tamed. Foxfold 1 Quote

wombatie Posted January 5, 2019 Report Posted January 5, 2019 You did a great job of the pattern and the cutting. You may have to learn how to use spirals, personally I hate them but you may just fall in love with them. Marg Quote

I've only tried spirals once and then only for 10mins. I didn't try them on this as I had heard they wouldn't make a really clean straight edge so didn't think they were appropriate for the lettering. When I have more time though I will try them again.x wombatie 1 Quote

Two are rescues, Flynn (tan, half-bloodhound) and Ranger (black, cropped ears, we think he was a bait dog that escaped). Annie (grey) we got from a breeder. Ranger's about 9 or 10 years old, Annie's 5, and Flynn's approaching 2. Quote
