Popular Post Rockytime
Mahendra was kind enough to create this pattern of my son-in-law's parents. His mother passed away several months ago. Cut two up from 1/8" BB. Finished with 50/50 BLO. I experimented with several blades. What worked the best was a #1 Olson blade. With a fresh blade which was fairly aggressive I cut bold areas first. When the blade started to wear out I cut the detail areas like the eyes. It cut less aggressively but had good control. Birchbark, Ptofimpact, ChelCass and 9 others
Rob
Beautiful cutting Les. I don't recall seeing the original photograph but I don't need to. That is as good as any photograph! Congrats to Mahendra too for the pattern. Rob

JimErn
Great cutting. I keep a scrap of wood nearby, and when I insert a new blade I make an inch long cut in it before returning to the work piece, seems to help me with that initial aggressiveness you mentioned
