Popular Post heppnerguy
I had an order for a John Wayne from my granddaughter for her new found dad. After I had it cut and ready to mail off, I got looking at it and decided I would also like one for my wall. So I cut one just for me and since I am trying to learn to make frames, I decided to go ahead and give it another try for my John Wayne. So here is my shot at both of them. I know I need to keep practicing those frames but who knows, maybe, just maybe I will figure those darn things out Dick heppnerguy frankorona, Foxfold, lawson56 and 10 others

Scrappile
Ya, I don't find frame making fun. Mainly because they are hard to clamp. I have made a couple jigs that help, but it is still not fun. You did good Dick. heppnerguy

Rob
Nice cutting Dick and your frame looks fine. @new2woodwrk posted a blog post on how he made his frames a while back which you might find useful. lawson56
Down right Awesome on both!! I never was very good at those type of frames,so I started making the one piece type, since I cut everything out of 1/4 thickness. heppnerguy
Rockytime
The portrait looks good and it looks like you have mastered the art of frame making. heppnerguy
Falcon
Great job! Myself I just don't get making frames. It is my achilles heel sigh. heppnerguy
Dave Monk
Looks great Dick. Are you trying to make you frames on your miter saw or table saw? heppnerguy

Rocky, I have a very long way to go with making frames but thanks for the supportive bit of encouragement here. I will continue to make an effort at it though and who knows, one of these days I may be able to agree with your statement about me making frames.....no, probably not, but I should get better at it with practice. We all know, as scrollers, how that works Dick heppnerguy

Frames have be rather baffled also but like scrolling, the more one tries something and hopefully learns from mistakes, the sooner one accomplishes their goal. I have discovered that any width variances, ever very slight, effects that outcome of the end results in a frame, as well as the exact width matchings on the top, bottom and both sides of the frame.
