Scrappile
Great cutting Dick. I love John Wayne movies as did most Americans. It had to be easy for him, he played the same part in every movie they just changed the settings. Even wore the same costume in many movies, it was his trademark. But, he was a good American hero... as were many actors back in the day. Wish we had some like that now. heppnerguy
Bill WIlson
Gotta love the Duke! Saw a program last night called Mysteries at the Museum. One of the stories was about a planned assassination of John Wayne, ordered by Joseph Stalin, back in the 50's. I had never heard this story before. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the whole segment, but in true accordance with the legend that is John Wayne, he worked with the FBI to foil the plot and turn the KGB agents into defectors who provided vital intel on KGB practices, during the Cold War. wombatie
Great work Dick. John Wayne is always a good one to cut. You did a terrific job on the frame. I have never tried making one I just buy all of mine. Marg heppnerguy

Wow Interesting story. I have never heard that either. There are a few places here in Casa Grande, Arizona where I live where John Wayne had ownership or just spent a lot of his spare time. In fact there is a golf course really close to my house that is named after him and I believe the story is, that John Wayne either had it built or owned the land it is on. Not sure exactly, as my memory does always retain the things I hear, very long. Dick heppnerguy
JimErn
In a town in Bracketville, Texas, back in the day the Duke spent his money to create a western town and the Alamo. That was where most of the filming went on, when they were done filming he gave it all to the ranch who owned the property. it was used to film C&W music videos too. The owners did not announce when a singer will be there, if you are there at the same, lucky you. inside all the buildings are photo's, candid shots of the stars relaxing with little cartoon clouds of what they said, adlib type comments Unfortunately they closed in 09 and sold it all off in 2014, though the buildings are still there it is closed to the public now heppnerguy and Scrappile 1

Unfortunately I did not get the pattern maker written down when I saved it to my western files. I guess I forgot to add it for the transfer. Nice pattern though. Just the kind I like to cut for portraits. Dick heppnerguy
