woodduck Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I was watching Adam's (Asunsell) video & decided to try & make one for my EX .Being a different saw this is how I went about it .Firstly I drew some pencil cross hairs on the table where the blade goes through .I then cut the piece of wood to go under the hole & fastened it by two small screws through two of the smaller holes that surround the the main blade entry hole,I had to grind the screw heads a bit to make sure they were flush with the table.I then poured a two part metal epoxy into the hole & when nearly set cut it off flush with the table with a razor blade,I then removed the screws & gave it a slight tap under the table with a piece of wood ,the wood came away with the new insert fixed to it.Then only a matter of re installing it & drilling a small hole for the blade .It won't be hard to replace it when it wears out & is a far better system than the playing card I had taped over the hole.Hope this makes sense Sam777, Scruffydog, kmmcrafts and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Scruffydog Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Thanks for that tip! I think that would work on a lot of saws. As an alternative to screws, a longer piece of wood and 2 clamps, if there is room, would also work. I think I'm going to try this on my craftsman saw. Quote
Rockytime Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Won't work on my Hawk but I love looking at things like your solution to a problem. Nice job! Quote
