I love Bernd's great aviation cuttings and he agreed to let me cut a couple of his also. He said to make it as large as my saw would permit but I wanted to try my usual 8 X 10 inch first. I choose to cut the Corsair F4U first because it looked to be the easies one. I feel honored that he allowed me to give this a try. I hope that I did not offend him with my efforts but as I continue to cut more of his work, I will start to understand better how I need to go about cutting it for best results. I really like airplanes, though I am  not obsessed with them, and I am looking forward to cutting more to hand on my own wall to admire. Thank you so much for your generosity and I will post the others as I find the time to cut them.

It seems to me that there are very thin bridges here. Be careful and attentive when sawing it.

This is my cut version.. I had it's fun places and I did have a break but at the leading edge of the left wing. I was able to glue back in place the piece that broke.  Thanks for the advice, just a little late for this one.

You did a good job. I also like airplanes. 👍
In my childhood I even collected a collection of plastic models on a scale of 1:73.
If you need a pattern with any airplane, just let me know.

Yes, it is quite real. You just select the desired photo.
By the way, Russian programmers made a video game dedicated to World War II military aviation, armored vehicles, and fleets.
The game allows you to consider the technique at close range from either side. There is even a view from the cockpit.

Yesterday I wrote a letter to the developers with a copyright question.
They replied that using screenshots to further create patterns fits the fan-art category and does not violate the law.

Here is a link to a small video.

Dick, You are very welcome and you did an amazing job. I definitely enjoy cutting more than than the designing. I am new to designing and use an old program MS 3D paint that has lots of limitations. I'm a nit-noid for trying to get all the lines clean and straight and gobbling pixels. Some day I'll stretch my brain to get into inkscape or another program. I've been cutting for about 5 years now and have learned, when working with  established pattern, the lines are guidelines, not fixed rules. If its too scary or doesn't make sense, plan your own path. I've kind of shied away from aircraft recently just because I didn't want to go into overload and recently bought the Alex Fox Pattern of the barn and pickup just to enjoy the cutting. My patterns of the TBM and Gulfhawk were the most complicated and I need to make things simpler. I'm nuts for the classic/historic aircraft and will probably jump into it again soon.

Dick, I look forward to seeing the other cuttings. You did a great job!

Well Ivan, It looked like a pretty interesting game. the graffics  were pretty good, especially on the aircraft I saw. However, The guy that was narrating it was a little difficult to understand 😉..  Thank you for video direction and the offer of making me a pattern. I am looking for one that I would like to have. I will let you know, should I find it.

If you do not find a good photo, you can simply indicate the model or type of aircraft, and then we will select the desired angle.😉
