Our old house had a swing attached to an oak tree.  Our daughter insisted it wasn't high enough until she could kick a nearby tree branch.  Of course, it wasn't very long after she was tall enough to reach that branch that her legs were also long enough to hit the chain-link fence between yards on the back-swing.  :)

As a kid I remember jumping from the top of a chain link fence to discover a shoelace was securely wrapped around the prongs on the top. Good thing stuff like that happens mostly when you're young and can still take it. 😉
