Lights on Chritmas Trees

Hello everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to add lights to my solid Christmas Trees. These are 12" tall and 8" wide at the bottom and 1-1/2" thick. They are made our of solid board. I'm attaching a picture of what one looks like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Get the small led string lights battery powered drill holes from the back so that just the tip of the bulb sticks out the front.

That’s what I would do. Drill the holes randomly. Use a hot glue gun on the back side to keep the lights from moving around. Should be fairly easy to do!

I would take it one more step and freehand route grooves in the back for the wires and put a thin backer over them.

Would anyone be concerned about the batteries only lasting for about 20-24 hours?

If you are concerned about battery life, then buy an AC light set.

First thing I thought about was the little led lights. I use them on some of the items I make. They work great although the wires can be a bit if trouble. The free hand routing and a backer sounds great to me..

We have these little light sets in a few places around the house during the holidays. The sets we have are timed so shut themselves off,  the batteries last well a couple of weeks or more.
