Popular Post Scrolling Steve
This was in the latest( spring 2019, issue 74) SSW&C mag...Pattern by Al Baggetta. I cut this from 3/4 African Mahogany...finished with a 50/50 mix Blo and MS and some wipe on poly....I love the wood ,which was given to me by my brother in law ......The wood had been in storage for many years and is very hard.......I plan on doing several of these as gifts .... This one will be going to Fla. to the inlaws that gave me many board feet of the beautiful wood !.......Hope you like it , comments welcome, Steve. meflick, Charlie E, frankorona and 14 others

orangeman
Very nice Steve. I bet it is stunning in African mahogany! Did you sand the eyes at all to eliminate the sharp edges? I made one out of walnut and showed it to a friend. My sanding job wasn't too hot on the eyes so he took a 1/8" round over router bit to it and improved the appearance a lot. I'm off to Home Depot today to get the 1/8 bit! I'm going to make some for my next craft show. Can't decide on the pricing however. Any suggestions? bb Scrolling Steve

heppnerguy
most pieces I like to do in a thinner wood but for this one, I think it is perfect. I would not bother fishing (pun intended) with any other wood or thickness. Nice piece. Dick heppnerguy Scrolling Steve
