hi everyone!

looks like you all have a nice community here and i look forward to hopefully getting to know some of you?

my name is kevin and im 45 (dec 17) and i live in vermillion, sd and im fairly new to woodworking (18 months)

and very new to scrolling (2 months) actually a little longer but not happily!

i found myself a hegner saw not long after i started with woodworking and i thought it vibrated to much so i

didnt get much enjoyment out of it so after tripling my money on it i later bought a dewalt 788 and not knowing

much it also vibrated a lot (i guess it had the bad top arm assembly) so i sold it too and went for almost a year

till i found an rbi hawk saw cheap and it runs pretty smooth and i have been happy and making all sorts of things

with it but the only thing i dont like about this saw is all the work it takes to change blades for fret work.

i would like to see if i can save up a lot of cash and get me an excalibur but if i cant maybe i will get another 788

and see if i can do the fixes to it now that i know more about it?

other things i enjoy are watching tv & movies, buying and selling on ebay and craigslist and just woodworking as

im partially disabled and cant do the things i used to enjoy such as golf and competitive archery and drag racing.

anyway, that about sums things up with me. hope others here are from south dakota and will stop in and say hello!

and as for the rest of you, i hope you will stop by also!

Welcome the the Village, you have indeed found a nice and friendly scrolling community here.

Sorry to here about your dramas with your saws in the past, hope you can find a solution to them.

I have heard the Dewalt is a good saw if you can get a hold of one, there are a few adjustments you need to do once you get the saw, but after that its apparently smooth sailing
