Popular Post Fran L Posted February 22, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted February 22, 2019 This is Garden Kitty by Jacob Fowler. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Straight lines always gave me a problem- I did better with this. Not quite perfect but at least now it was do to me not having consistent pressure pushing it thru instead of the blade wobbling. Felt more in control doing tight corners than before.Did break a bridge on one of the fairy wings, now it just looks like a double wing. 1/4 in BB, 2/0 FD blade. Gordster Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Very well done, looks like kitty might take a swipe at the fairy. Can't notice the bridge cut..whole thing looks great. Fran L 1 Quote
lawson56 Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Hey an Awesome job!!Never would have noticed the wing. Fran L 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 (edited) Very well done. Straight lines are the hardest thing to cut with a scroll saw. I use a lot of Flying Dutchman blades, but have found that when cutting straight lines or circles, Pegas blades work the best. I thin wood I use there #1 skip tooth reverse blade. Thanks for the tip Paul-- Never used Pegas, will have to try those. Quote
wombatie Posted February 23, 2019 Report Posted February 23, 2019 We all hate long straight lines but we all have our own way of dealing with them, yours do not look too bad. Only you know what you did wrong so you don't have to tell anyone they would be none the wiser. I think you garden kitty looks purrrfect. Well done. Marg Fran L 1 Quote

Gonzo Posted February 24, 2019 Report Posted February 24, 2019 Nice job! I really like it. Straight lines along with letters are very hard to do. Get them mastered and the sky is the limit. I agree with Paul about trying out Pegas blades. ( modified geometry.) it'll make it much easier for you. Fran L 1 Quote
