Rolf
Primarily the pattern dictates the direction of cut, but having said that depending on the blade I try to keep the waste to the right of the blade. I seem to be able to see my cut better, not sure why. The other reason being that the blades with a bit of a burr cause me to sit slightly to the right of center. Also I have it in my head that the left side of the blade (non burr) gives me a smoother cut. If I was still working I would look at the cut under the supper microscopes I worked with to verify one way or the other. For now it is just my opinion and that is good enough for me. wombatie
I think we all in our scrolling time will cut either way and yes even sometimes backwards, very slowly, it just depends on what we are cutting. Marg
munzieb
I do tend to cut in either direction but as mentioned before, it depends on the pattern. I do favor the waste side so I can revisit the cut is I am slightly off the line. I have also noticed that blades are more aggressive on one side than the other and the aggressive side will follow the line better.
