Popular Post Charlie E Posted February 28, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted February 28, 2019 Probably my favorite book. A while back I thought the book cover would make a pretty good pattern. Not really what I envisioned but it turned out OK, especially since I'm a big fan. Reminds me of a quote from another favorite book. A Prayer For Owen Meany-"Nothing bears out in practice what it promises incipiently." New Guy, wombatie, fisch2481 and 9 others 12 Quote

Foxfold Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 Awesome, that picket fence must have taken ages. I just love the fact that it's all in one piece. Great cutting Charlie E and fisch2481 1 1 Quote

meflick Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 Awesome job on that Charlie. One of my favorite books too. Another, when I was younger, was "Charlotte's Web." Want to tackle that one? You clearly have more patience then Ido. I'm thinking that picket fence would not have made it to any attempts I made at the cover of that one! I loved reading, still do. I spent most of my summers as a kid going to the library at the start of the week, getting as many books as they would let me check out (and I think one librarian even let me check out extras), reading them and going back later in the week for more. Good thing that library was within walking distance. I hope I passed that love of reading onto my kids. (They loved it when they were little I know.) Thanks for sharing your great work Charlie and bringing back some fond memories. Charlie E 1 Quote

Thanks for sharing your great work Charlie and bringing back some fond memories. Thanks Melanie! May have to take a look at the Charlotte's Web cover. My 22 month old granddaughter loves the movie. Her mom, my daughter did when she was little too. I do love to read. My 15 year old daughter puts me to shame though. I take her to the library often. She checks out 4-5 to my one and finishes ahead of me. I usually just read a chapter or two before bed. If I were to cut this one again I would have made the fence larger than it is on the cover. It would have been much easier and I think may have looked better. meflick 1 Quote
