Popular Post BigBubbaG Posted March 2, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted March 2, 2019 GEEZ! Wish I'd gotten one a lot sooner. Using spiral blades on my old Hitachi it seemed just as I was getting my groove on..... BROKEN BLADE. On the 788 I cut both these horse portraits and only broke one blade. Also thought the old saw was very light on vibration. Much to my amazement the 788 seems vibration free in comparison. I LOVE IT! Now for some final sanding and finish. amazingkevin, Charlie E, danny and 9 others 12 Quote
BigBubbaG Posted March 2, 2019 Author Report Posted March 2, 2019 Oh BTW... Both these patterns were in the summer 2018 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts magazine. Quote

Greg Slagle Posted March 2, 2019 Report Posted March 2, 2019 Looking at getting a 788 myself... My Dremel 1680 has served me well for a surprising amount of years but it is getting to be time to upgrade... You did a nice job on the horses... I like horses a lot but I've never owned one... My dad had one for a couple of years just before he died... It followed him around like a puppy... lol Quote

Took me a second to realize what the 2nd one was... An adult horse facing left with its head down eating grass... A colt standing facing you near the shoulder of the adult horse... Quote

BigBubbaG Posted March 3, 2019 Author Report Posted March 3, 2019 Thanks! I grew up around horses, cows and chickens. I love animals and really enjoy cutting animal portraits and such. 5 hours ago, Greg Slagle said: Looking at getting a 788 myself... It served me well but it was time for an upgrade and, MAN! am I happy with the upgrade. Greg Slagle and amazingkevin 2 Quote

Scrappile Posted March 3, 2019 Report Posted March 3, 2019 looks like you and that new saw are a great pair. Very nice cuttings. Quote
wombatie Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 I have a DeWalt and an EX21, my EX21 is my back up saw. Great work on both of the horse portraits, well done. Marg amazingkevin 1 Quote
Old Joe Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 Nice work, and congrats on your new saw. I would highly recommend upgrading to the Pegas blade clamps. The difference in ease of clamping, and even further reduction in vibration is a game changer. Quote
rdatelle Posted March 6, 2019 Report Posted March 6, 2019 Nice cutting on both of those. I wish I could cut with a spiral blade. Can't seem to get a hang for it. Quote
