Rockytime
What can you tell me about this Hawk? It must be old. No description. OCtoolguy
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Isn't that the old 14" saws. Looks like it is missing a cover over the back bearings. If it is they do not make them any more and I worry about the motor. I believe it does not have a front blade tensioner either and you have to do it from the rear. Can not see all of it. Or it could be this one than you have to really look at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaE-4ngKJQo or this Hawk 220-3 S/N 8021. kmmcrafts
Appears to be a very early 220.. When you see these saws with the Red back C shaped section at the back of the saw... That's a early saw.. Most of these was either single speed or 3 speeds via changing belt to different pulleys. These also do not have the up front blade tension quick release.. I'm not sure if this style has the motor issues that the other older ones did because the other motor ones that had the issues was because of the VS controller.. so I don't think these have that issue.. My understanding is these did have weaker arms.. heard of cases of the arms bending.. Note the arm design.. it has hollowed out areas to lighten them up.. but they bend where the hollowed out areas are I believe..
