Dave you shouldn't have to worry about the tension.  It the upper arm is parallel to the table, them the only tension is the lever on the top clamp,,, I know on my Hegner, I adjust the tension often with the back knob,,, not so with the Pegas, type saw...  Mine is a Seyco, I know I am going to wish it was a Pegas.........

Scott is used to a Dewalt tensioning and the Pegas is totally different.  What is weird to me is on the Pegas I can't feel the tension that I am putting on the blade. On my Hegner I can feel it. If I could only have one saw I don't know which one I would keep. I love being able to top feed with the Pegas but I like the fact that you can't wear out the Hegner.

Mine says the same thing, but I received an email from UPS with my delivery date of Tuesday, so we'll see if it's coming "next day air"

Just got an email from UPS and they are saying February 20 (Wednesday) for delivery!!  I may have a Hawk for sale next week.

Well... now I'm wondering if I'll get a saw tomorrow or not... Email from UPS last Friday said delivery tomorrow... but when I pull up the tracking number, it says it hasn't been picked up.  A mystery...

UPDATE:  Mystery solved.  I emailed them, here is their response.  LOL

Hi Scott,

I have spoken with the production team who is sending these out. They are backed up with the saw's as we have so many coming and going in the last week. They want them all out by end of the week so if you haven't received an update by end of day tomorrow please give us a call so we can sort that out for you.

Warm regards,

Received my new saw today from D&D.  Didn't even have to make any adjustments to it. Run great straight out of the box. I am totally impressed with it. Time will tell.

Dave,

D&D in PA has the new Pegas saw? didn't know that. Always had great advice and service from D&D on Pegas blades.

I just checked D&D website and the Pegas saw is not there.

Did you get a good deal?

bb

DnD is awesome to deal with... but if they can't get you one.. maybe try QTE.. they are also awesome.. I've had great experience from both on parts and blades.. Not so much for Bear Wood though.. QTE customer service has replaced thumb screws and set screw free of charge for a few people that claim they wore out prematurely.. Not that a thumb screw and set screw is expensive anyway.. the point is.. they seem to care about the customer..

Stevan,

How do you plan to sell your hawk? I have a hawk and Hegner that I need to sell because I am downsizing.

Brian, if you can help me figure out how to convince my hubby thst I NEED. A Hawk and a Hegner to add to my collection of saws I might be interested. 😉🤨 I hear so much about them and really would like to try them but I am not sure I can convince him. 🤨☺️🤪 where is Big Canoe, GA in relation to Atlanta area or Athens area? My children are presently in both areas at school. Maybe I can slip down to visit one of them and have them mysteriously arrive on my return trip and deny any knowledge of how it happened. 😏☺️ Either that or leave them in the storage shed at the Atlanta location for now. Claim I need them for when I am down there. 🤔 Or, tell him I am going to start teaching classes in the garage. 🤔 Which saws do you have?

Scott, glad your new Pegas Saw is arriving tomorrow. It’s red so I don’t “need” it. 😉☺️

Thanks for the advice. Not presently in the market for a new saw but when my Delta bites the dust I will definitely consider a Pegas saw. Also if I get into bowls because of the tilting head.

QTE's website says they sold all 60 of their original allotment. Next shipment is June. Looks like they are selling well.

I was going to offer it here at a bit of a discount first and then go to Craigslist and Facebook Market Place.
