Iguanadon
Wednesday night is trivia night with friends at a local pub and when we got home my Pegas was waiting for me. This is as far as I'll get tonight. I'll assemble the stand and mount it tomorrow. Full review to follow. kmmcrafts, Dave Monk, NC Scroller and 6 others 8

Scrappile
EXCITED! I am anxious to read your opinion after some use. You are a pretty dedicated DeWalt fan, so your opinion will be interesting. Nothing in my mind against DeWalt saws, I owned one, but I thought the Excalibur was a definite step up. I look forward to reading your view. That is a beautiful looking saw.... unless you like yellow better. Yep, I'm a happy DW user and I know how long each one will last. The Pegas will need to last at least 2 1/2 years to be considered "better" than the DW as far as durability. Maybe the Pegas will be so smooth and sweet I'll never go back. Scrolling Steve, OCtoolguy, Scrappile and 1 other

Especially if Pegas tuned it prior to shipping it. They are a great manufacturer.

JimErn
Sure looks pretty, congrats on it arriving. I am looking forward to your review too, especially in view of how many puzzles you cut a day OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
Dang! Nice saw.. and they even gave you a pack of Pegas blades... My Excalibur only came with one blade, LOL.. I think you'll love the saw.. even if it doesn't run as fast as a DeWalt. OCtoolguy
stevan
Steve Good showed a way to protect your table with magnetic sign material. Have you given any thought about going that route? OCtoolguy
Iguanadon
Step 2 complete... base built, mounted and power tested. The stand is quite a bit lower than the one I'm used to with the DW. Certainly not a problem, my chair is height adjustable. Step 3 will be performing some cutting tests (specifically related to puzzle pieces sliding in and out from both sides). Reminder, I have a day job (work from home) so I have to sneak into the garage in between conference calls. Have you given any thought about going that route? I haven't thought about doing that at this point. I've always just used the raw tables, but it's something I'll keep in mind. I do wish they hadn't used a sticker on the table top that left residue after removing it... Again, no big deal, some Goof Off took care of it. scrollerpete
Congrats on the new saw, puzzles will be flying out in record time. I’m sure that you will find it better than big yellow. Happy sawdust making. OCtoolguy
meflick
Congratulations. Look forward to seeing and hearing more. As far as the day job and conference calls - unless you are having to do a lot of "talking" - just take the call out in the garage and work and "listen". Wooden Lace
Congrats on the new saw! I've tried friend's Hawks and Hegners, plus have had Excaliburs and a Jet, but DeWalt is still my favorite. BUT....really don't care for the yellow, so this past winter when we were snowed in for over a week, I got bored and painted one of them. Masked off a few things and hit it with 3 coats of Rust-Oleum Cranberry, then 2 coats of spray lacquer. Sure is pretty! Everything that was black still is, just painted the yellow, and the ugly orange on-off switch. Noticed on one of my newer saws that the switch is burgundy rather than orange, so maybe they thought that was ugly too. Hope you get lots of use out of your new toy. Iguanadon
Report #1 - Cut a test puzzle, all is well. Just a minor adjustment to the tilt of the table to get it aligned and a minor shift of the table top so the blade was centered in the hole in the table. Moved the saw into my cutting area and realized... Hmmm, no light... I loved the attached light on my DW. I took a look at the Pegas and tried something... and it worked just fine... Using my DW light, just screwed on with one screw and the bolt shown props it in place. Quick and easy fix. Next is to do another puzzle with the vacuum system hooked up... It's all so exciting.
