I have always wanted to do some type of woodworking. I had to wait until I was a great grandmother to be able to see my dream come true. Thanks to my brother in law, I now have a scroll saw and numerous other shop tools. I have only been using the scroll saw for a couple of months and have loved every minute of it. I have gone so far as to tear apart a pallet to have wood to use until I could order some, but have actually made so nice things out of the wood. I've learned a lot of things by reading forums and watching video's. Thanks for having me here, and I am sure I will have a lot of questions and need a lot of advise along the way.

hello marion and welcome to the "scroll saw village"You'll fit right in as we all ask question often.i too fell in love with a scroll saw and would'nt want to do anything else! We'd like to see what your first project was ,and remember to save it as a memorbilia of where you were in the start of your hobby!Be carefull what you wish as it may come true!Sounds like your moving right along scrolling and getting free wood.I look out for furniture as a sourse of free wood.Baby bed cribs are perfect for keychains as there a hard wood.Sides of drawers are usually maple or oak and the perfect size to go it the scroll saw.food coloring or rit dye does a nice fumeless coloring of the wood.Lots of tips come up in the forum daily and you can add some that work for you too.glad you found us ,were here to help you have a good time with your new found hobby! :)
