In the Puget Sound Bay west of Seattle. Everything rusted and it constantly rained holding up projects. I could never figure out why the site was ever picked. Scrappile
Bremerton!! Sure they still use it. My son was stationed there for a while. Absolutely beautiful area. He lived in Poulsbo. Was on the USS Carl Vinson. Took a break from F-18 to learn more about ship life. Went out for a prep cruse to prepare for a normal 6 month cruse and didn't get back until 9 months later! They were called to the middle east while on the prep exercise. When he returned, his son and I I loved it over there, would love to live around that area. Folks that serve on subs generally don't serve on the surface. Strange trade, but they needed a tech to troubleshoot problems. I was traded in a bar conversation. I was in a Transport Company and every time we'd bring the trucks or any vehicle for that matter back to the Depo. we'd grab a gallon of Olive Green and a 4" brush and slap it on any scratches etc In some places I think they where bullet proof because of all the paint teachnlearn and OCtoolguy
