Ordered New Banner

I thought I'd get a new banner for 2019.  2.5' x 8' for the back of my tent.  I wanted to emphasize the fact that no computers, lasers, etc are used.  Even though I have INDIVIDUALLY HAND CUT on my banners, it didn't really click.  What do you think?  Old banner with Elephant on it, new banner with Dragon on it.

You mean you didn't at least use the Pegas saw and help promote Pegas? LOL

I think the new banner is a better way to go.. you should have used the Pegas saw though, LOL.. but probably more people relate to the DeWalt more..

I thought about snapping a new photo with the new saw... but this one works well and amazingly when I hold an actual blade up to the banner to show folks where it goes, it's probably darn near 100% life size.  I didn't want to screw with it.  LOL

My thoughts is people do not read so no matter what you put on there. They do not understand the differences. I have hand made signs on my shows too and still get asked if cut with a laser or overhear conversations where people say that it is. Do not sweat that stuff keep doing what you are doing. It will not mean any more sales.

VERY TRUE... I think the photo of the saw might help a little.. but.. then.. many don't have any kind of idea what a scroll saw is a does anyway so even with the picture.. may not make a difference for some folks.. LOL

Nice, but I might argue about the computer - you do use it to store and print the patterns from. 😉☺️

Only after I had acquired about 100 of Harvey's patterns... til I scanned them all I was flipping through a giant stack every time I needed a specific breed of of dog.  LOL

I like the new banner
I have blade and drill bit laminated to piece of paper with the wording, Hand cut, no CNC or Lasers.
Actual size of blade and drill bit. Also a photo of a scroll saw.
I just show people that and it gets rather a good reaction when they see how tiny things are.

Is there no way at these shows to put up a video of you cutting the puzzles? I just wonder because this day and age with video technology and electronics etc.. seems like a screen with a video of cutting the puzzles out would be self explanatory.. I don't do shows so I don't know.. Maybe it's not possible.. I've read in the past about people bringing saws and setting up to do live demos etc.. While that's cool.. I don't find that as practical as video...

Interesting idea, however most events you're limited to a 10'x10' space (unless you pay for a double sized booth) and many venues have limited access to electricity and I have found that the spaces with access to power are usually in bad locations in the overall layout of the event.  I learned that the hard way and no longer ask for access to power in order to get better spots.  All of my major events I don't have power.

I have electricity at my weekly farmers market, but it's only 5 hours long and I'm only going to sell 20-25 puzzles a week even if I had a clown juggler on a unicycle.  😉

Good thinking John, and yep, I have used blades with me to show folks and you're right the reaction is great.

I know I'm a bit late but does it have to be the elephant or the dragon?  Why not one of your local designs, you know the ones with local areas scrolled on them.  Just a thought it might make people stop and look.

Marg

Hey Marg, I show a Unicorn on the front banner on my table, and up above I show a Dachshund and a Sea Turtle.  I chose not to go with one of my local designs since I do shows all over the area and depending on which beach town I'm in dictates what I display.  But, you have a good idea and I will think about having multiple banners in place of the Unicorn to put up based on the beach town I'm in... That could definitely grab people's attention.
