I have one in Inkscape that's called AR Berkley that is like that.

Brenda, That was it thanks soo much.  A year or so ago my computer crashed and I lost some of my fonts. When I pull a pattern up in Inkscape and the font is not in my computer it just puts something random in its place. Got it back............Thanks soo much.

I just took  a quick look at Inkscape, and I don't have the AR Berkley font!!!  Anyone know where it can be found?  Its not on dafonts.com.

...of course, immediately after typing this, I find it at https://fontzone.net/download/ar-berkley.  I should not be allowed near a keyboard before coffee....

Here's how I found the font I came up with. I downloaded Dave's picture, cropped the font he wanted and uploaded it to this site.
It's the 1st time I have done this, but I can see it coming in handy at times.

Great fonts.  Have added to  my hoard.  I think they are the same font different names.

A fair amount of time must have been spent adding the bridges and for some reason the "n" is a little different.

I am sure I will use.

Don,  This is off topic........do you know how to backup fonts?

I use a program called Nexusfont.  You can select all fonts and copy to a backup folder.  I then copy that folder to a thumb drive.  Nexusfont will install if you want from that folder

The folder also gets backed up on my Western Digital My Drive that I run on a weekly basis.

Nexusfont is a really great free program.  I have separate collections with my scrollable fonts, stencil, clipart and script font.  This way when looking for a font it is easy to find.  I open along side Inkscape and it is much easier to see what the word looks like that the text feature in Inkscape.

Free at http://www.xiles.net/

I don't know if I should ask this question here as I don't want to hijack the thread but it's a related question. So, here goes. I have Irfanview on my computer and every time I try to download a new font, it is automatically opened by Irfanview. I went into the file association menu and unchecked the TTF files but it still defaults to Irfanview. What am I doing wrong and how do I change it? There is no "install" option when I right click on the icon on my desktop. I'm confused as to what changed. I know it has to do with some setting in Irfanview. For some reason, Irfanview takes it as an image and when I click on it I get an image of the font and all of its styles.

Edit: I uninstalled Irfanview then re-installed it using the download for Windows 10 64 bit. At that point, I was given the option to pick and choose file types. I selected "images only" and finished the install. That did it. Now, when I download a font, I get the Irfanview icon with the TTF file name and when I right click I get the "open with" option. I select Windows Font Viewer. That opens an image of the font properties and I get the "install" option. So, I figured it out on my own. Happy Birthday to me!!

Don, I have that program already. I guess I need to mess with it a bit and try that. Thanks.

Don, I just installed that program. It seems that I have 356 installed fonts. Would it be asking too much for you to possibly show what fonts you have in your scroll saw file? I'd be interested in knowing what constitutes a scroll saw font. I could go through all my fonts but I wouldn't know which ones to put in which folder. I'd sure appreciate your assistance.

C:\Windows\fonts is the folder that fonts typically install in.  Just back that folder up.  Or download the font, cut/paste it to an off-computer folder, and click to install it from there.  It'll still install to C:\Windows\fonts, but the installer is on an external drive.  Something happens to your computer....just reinstall all of em.  May take some time, but it'll take a lot less than re-downloading.  :)

I also created a Word doc with every font I've downloaded.  I put the name of the font, then the alphabet (upper/lower cases) and numbers.  I highlight the sample row and change its font to the one on display.  So if I'm looking for a cursive font, I just scroll down until I find one or two, then play around in Inkscape with several different fonts to see which works the best.  Sometimes, if I like a font overall but like a letter in another font, I'll switch the font of just the one letter.

Here are is a PDF of my scrollable fonts and one of script fonts.  Both created with nexusfont and printed to a PDF writer.
