Scrappile Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 All the effort had to be worth it to end up with a piece that beautiful!! Quote
trackman Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 You saying you used 35 flat blades? Quote
RabidAlien Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 Somehow, "Like" just isn't enough for something like this!!!! AMAZING!!! Quote
GPscroller Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 Amazing cutting and patience, well worth the effort. Great job. Jeff Quote
britetomro Posted April 29, 2019 Author Report Posted April 29, 2019 Many thanks for all the comments. Frame is redwood and from a repurposed railing taken out of a home during a remodel. Yes Trackman, 35 flat blades. Find that when I seem to be pushing the wood to make the cut, it is time to replace the blade. Will be entering this piece into our local fair this year which starts in July. Thanks again, Ron Scrappile, amazingkevin and Charles Hand 3 Quote

amazingkevin Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 I think britetomor was the one that inspired me in letter cuts when I first joined SSV. What an amazing cut this project is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Lucky2 Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 Ron, who counted the number of cuts, you, or the pattern included that info? It's an amazing piece, best of luck at the fair. With that many hours and that many blades, you most certainly deserve to win going by that alone. Len Quote

Thanks again, Ron Please let I know the results. I have thought of entering something in our local fair. Like a lot of fairs it is getting less and less participation. Last one there were three small items in the wood working section. Pretty sad. Edited May 1, 2019 by Scrappile Quote
britetomro Posted May 1, 2019 Author Report Posted May 1, 2019 Amazingkevin, we have been at this for a few years. I always believe in challenging myself from one project to the next. I mention the same and always encourage those in my local scroll saw association to do the same. Thanks for the comment and support. Scrappile, I will make sure to provide an update in July when this and other pieces are entered into the fair with the results. Lucky2. the pattern designer included the number of cuts on the pattern. I used a 1/16" drill bit for all of the holes. A few of the holes were only 1/16", however a blade was also inserted into the holes and cut just to clean up the edges. This way, every opening was cut with a blade and not simply made with the bit. Thanks again for the comments from all. Quote
Charles Hand Posted May 2, 2019 Report Posted May 2, 2019 Excellent workmanship. Everything looks awesome. Very professional. Quote
